·        Reusable mugs for $1 and one free refill! $0.99/refill thereafter.

§         Signs with ounces and poundage information for fresh salads

§         PB&J Day

·        Selling PB&J in retail, will do something in residential on that day to stress how sustainable we are when we don’t eat meat.

o       National Pretzel Day – April 26, 2010

§         Look out for some fun things and some surprises.

o       Monday, May 3, 2010 - Mai Pham End of the Year Blow Out Event

Meeting Minutes/Notes:

·        Reviewed agenda items

o       For Customer Appreciation Day – May 5, 2010 –

§         Teri to send something to Steve to go out to the campus community.

·        Open discussion:

o       Library – signs for Starbucks should be converted to small, medium, and large so that students do not get the sizes confused (ex. grande, venti, etc.)

o       Main Dining Hall

§         Shrimp dish was really good.

·        May not have properly been labeled for those having peanut and nut allergies

o       Will speak with the Chef and Victoria to do more in signage for those with allergies.

§         People are liking the Mai Pham at the Vegan Station

o       Study Breaks for the end of the year to be provided in the Cabaret like last semester.

o       Calzones

§         MORE CALZONES – Students like those and the specials at the pizza station

§         Fried Dough – Bring back as a pizza station special.

§         Teri addressed that the pizza specials are based on a pizza special’s cycle menu

§         Melissa suggested  - Fried Dough Friday’s

o       Look into more themed nights that are inconsistent yet consistent.

§         Taco Tuesday – but not every Tuesday

·        Valley Café

o       Students are very excited about this and enjoying the experience.

·        Pasta Station – A favorite among the students

o       Last year they had 6 sauces and this year there are 2 sauces.

o       Last year they had 3 pastas, this year there are 1 or 2.

o       Desired sauces include: pesto, meat sauce, marinara sauce, butter, penne a la vodka, etc…

§         These flavors are alternated but they would like to see them all at the same time for more choices.

o       Would like to see more wheat pasta –

§         Maybe half size bin of wheat pasta every day

§         Signage to let people know that it’s there.

§         Brown/wheat rice should be out all the time at the vegan station.

·        SGA Meeting – comments from the students

o       Peanut Allergies –

§         Students need to make food servers aware of switching gloves if they have a sensitive allergy, even if the actual food being prepared does not have any nuts involved.

o       Openness to speak out about problems

§         Signage to encourage students to report an issue or concern to the residential manager and/or supervisor.

·        See something, say something campaign.

o       More popular Dinner items more frequently

§         Themed nights to accompany them so the same things are served in different variations.

·        Soft serve machine:

o       Broken quite frequently and does not produce ice cream as soft as it should be.

o       Should maybe invest in a new machine.

·         Innovation:

o       Make your own burrito station!

§         Even if we can’t have a station, provide a Demo Day

o       Panini station in the future???

·        Planned upgrades:

o       None projected for this summer

§         No major changes

§         Maybe shelving for plates at stations

§         Furnishing is still top on the list.      

o       C-Store conversion will be discussed for fall implementation.

·        Concluding note:

o       Seniors are happy with the Dining Hall.

o       Has shown an exponential growth in terms of quality… J  - stated by Melissa Greco.
