Meeting Minutes


o    Open Floor/Discussion Forum:

o       Organic Café

§        To keep with the demands of marketing to students today, there was a suggestion to get the Organic Café on Facebook

o    Dining Hall:

o       Barbeque sauce missing from the condiment area – SGA rep

§        Students want them back

o       Students LOVE the Buffulo Wing night – SGA rep

o       After 6pm, soft serve ice cream runs out

§        Will look into having that checked around the 6ish hour

o       Love the new Ice Cream Station

§        Would like specials more days a week

o       Dessert menu for lunch is better than dessert for dinner

§        Will discuss having more cookies and brownie bite desserts during dinner as well as lunch

o       A+ for Pizza Station

o       Grill Specials Should be Marketed so that students know about it

o       Salad Bar

§        People are requesting diced chicken everyday at the salad bar

o       Students are requesting whole wheat pasta more than once per week

o       Courtyard –

§        Melissa is working on a campus garden

o    Cabaret

o       Buffalo Chicken Wrap

§        Students are not happy with the pre-made wraps in the Cabaret.

§        Students would like them to be hand made to order like they used to be.

o       Soup Board/labels should be closer to the soup

o       Entrée’s and Soups should be more clearly labeled

§        Whether an item is completely vegetarian, etc.

§        Can be addressed by Victoria and Teri

o    Donnelly –

o       Faculty member is requesting more Southern Pecan Coffee

o       Bizarre combinations of food for the hot meals

o       Faculty is requesting a weekly menu for the hot meals.

§        Requesting them to be posted in the morning by 8:00am

§        The menu selection should also be improved

o    Update on Project and Campus Garden – Melissa

o       Apple picking event

§        Chef will do a live cooking demonstration

§        Will show from the farm to your plate connection

o       October 21, 2009 – Farmers Market during activity hour

o    Suggestions for the future/Conclusions:

o       Address labeling and ingredient information

o       Organic Café on facebook

o       Give more information about the Dining Advisory Committee to students at the welcome center and at comment box location:

§        Describe the student component of the committee

o       Will discuss the ideas of:

§        real breakfast on the weekends for athletes

§        Extended hours for the dining hall

§        More marketing and labeling of products

§        Wheat pasta more regularly.
